Fifth person charged in Robeson convenience store shooting

Robeson County authorities have charged four people in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Dec. 11 at a Red Springs convenience store.

Robeson County authorities on Wednesday charged a fifth person in a fatal shooting at a Red Springs convenience store.

Christopher Jordan McGeachy, 18, of Red Springs, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to comment first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflecting serious injury and attempted robbery.

According to investigators, two men entered Roscoe's Convenience Store, at 400 N. Main St., on Dec. 11 and demanded money before firing shots. Clerk Rodney Maynard was shot in the shoulder, and customer James Johnson was killed.

Ladarrian Kearse, 32, Darrick McArthur, 22, and Vayshawn McLean, 18, are charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery with a dangerous weapon in the case. Kearse  and McArthur also are charged with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Charkesha Soloman, 27, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
