Female bystander shot during fight in Durham

Durham police said that a 23-year-old woman was shot when several men got into a fight outside at Maple and East Main streets Saturday afternoon. One man was also injured.

Durham police said that a 23-year-old woman was shot when several men got into a fight outside at Maple and East Main streets Saturday afternoon. One man was also injured.

Investigators determined someone pulled out a gun during the argument and fired several shots around 2 p.m. A man was shot in the leg, and a woman on a nearby porch was shot in the side. Witnesses told police that the woman wasn't involved in the altercation.

Both victims, whose names haven't been released, were transported to Duke University Medical Center. An condition update for the victims was not available.

No arrests have been made.
