The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have issued a joint bulletin describing a spike in threats to federal law enforcement officials.

This comes after FBI agents searched former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in palm beach, Florida.

According to NBC News, senior law enforcement officials said the statement was issued out of an abundance of caution.

The bulletin advises that the threats are coming from online and other platforms.

The statement calls on officials to be vigilant and aware of issues surrounding domestic violent extremists, including secret service protective details, especially at The White House and other well marked locations.
