FBI searches townhouse as part of court-ordered investigation

The FBI is looking through a townhouse in Cary on Friday.

A crew of FBI agents spent much of the morning searching a townhouse on Yellowfield Way. The home is near the intersection of Tryon and Walnut streets.

Cary police were also there, but said they have no information on the federal investigation.

Agents left the house with paper bags full of what appeared to be paperwork or files in plastic evidence bags.

One agent took photos of the deck and two others were seen carrying what looked like a heavy plastic storage bin.

About 10 agents left the house shortly after 11 a.m. Someone is believed to be inside the home.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Shelley Lynch said the search is part of a court-ordered investigation.

This is a developing story.
