Fayetteville police searching for armed robbery suspects

Fayetteville police said Friday they are searching for two men accused of kicking in the door to a woman's home and robbing her at gunpoint.

Fayetteville police said Friday they are searching for two men accused of kicking in the door to a woman’s home and robbing her at gunpoint.

The incident happened just before noon on June 8 in the 1900 block of James Hammer Way. The woman told investigators that two men armed with handguns forced their way in and made her lie on the floor while they stole money and other items.

Police have identified the suspects as Genesis Lee Whitted, 23, of the 800 block of Glensford Drive, and Wayne Desmond Whitted, 22, of the 3100 block of Braddock Drive. They are both charged with breaking and entering of a residence, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felonious conspiracy.
