Fayetteville police investigate attempted sex assault

Fayetteville police are investigating an attempted sexual assault on Willow Brook Drive early Saturday morning.

A 20-year-old woman told police she was in a parking lot around 3:30 a.m. when a man tried to assault her. She ran away and called police.

Investigators said they believe the man may have met the victim at a local nightclub earlier in the evening.

The suspect was described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds and clean cut with a "high and tight" hair style. He was driving a black Dodge Charger with 22-inch rims, police said.
