For the first time in Fayetteville, domestic violence and sexual assault victims will have a place to go for long-term healing that provides a variety of services and programs under one roof.

The Fayetteville Family Justice Center, housed in the historic Helbon-Horne House, at 519 Ramsey St., opens Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Fayetteville Police Department, other local law enforcement agencies and 18 community groups comprise the center.

The building was donated by the city.
