Fayetteville man charged with murder from November death investigation

A Fayetteville man was charged with murder in connection with another man's death from November.

On Tuesday, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office charged Kareem Jamal Butler of Fayetteville with first-degree murder.

On Nov. 11, deputies responded to the 6000 block of River Road near Wade for a death investigation.

The victim was identified as Christopher Torok. An autopsy determined Torok died from blunt force trauma.

Butler's first court appearance will be on Wednesday at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
