A family with three children is vowing to move out of a Raleigh apartment complex after bullets flew during a home invasion Saturday night.

Authorities said three men forced their way into an apartment at 105 Bashford Rd. at about 7:50 p.m. and shot a man inside before fleeing in a purple Acura.

Authorities said a second man was pistol whipped, but both men are expected to recover. Police did not release the names of the victims.

Neighbors said the shooting happened in apartment D and one family said they were inside their apartment, less than 100 feet away, when shots rang out.

The family members, who did not want to be identified, said they have had enough of the violence in the area and are looking to move away permanently.

Raleigh police have not released a motive for the home invasion or any description of the suspects.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
