Raleigh parks announced today that an extra night has been added to the sold out Holiday Express at Pullen Park because of the overwhelming response.

The event sold out in less than a day back in July.

The new night is scheduled for Dec. 7. Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m., Oct. 17, and may only be purchased through Eventbrite. The tickets will sell out very quickly.

The event runs 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Dec. 1 to Dec. 4 and Dec. 7 to Dec. 11. The park is decorated with thousands of lights. The event includes special activities and a visit with Santa, along with rides on the park's carousel and kiddie train.

Tickets for this event are based upon a designated train boarding time, which means there is less waiting time in line. Tickets are $10 per person.

Some details, courtesy of Raleigh:

  • Armband and boarding passes are required for all guests 24 months and older. Children under 24 months without a paid admission must be held or sit in the lap of an accompanying adult during the duration of the train ride and may not occupy a seat.
  • When you purchase tickets for Holiday Express you will only receive a receipt. You should bring your receipt and/or an ID to pick up your event armbands and train boarding passes at Pullen Park Welcome Center. Will Call hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, Nov. 25 to Nov. 29, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 5 to Dec. 6. Pick up will also be available the night of the event.
