Increased security expected following series of fights at Leesville Road High School

There will be an increased law enforcement presence at Leesville Road High School on Thursday following several fights.

In a letter sent to parents, Principal Ian Solomon said there were several fights during the high school's lunch periods Wednesday. Solomon said the fights "were quickly disbanded," and school officials have identified several of the students involved in the fights.

"Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, and we also will pursue prosecution of those involved to the fullest extent of the law," Solomon said in the letter.

Solomon also clarified about rumors of weapons on the high school's campus. He said that school officials have not received any information that there are weapons on the school's property.

An additional law enforcement presence was requested on Wednesday following the fights.

Solomon said any parents with questions or concerns should contact the high school's office.
