These are some of our favorite picks for the week.

Monday

Flash Chorus (Motorco Music Hall, 723 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - Show up at 7 p.m. to sing Van Halen's "Jump" and SHAED's "Trampoline" with a live band. No singing experience necessary -- it's just for fun.

nOg Monday Night Run Club (Raleigh Beer Garden, 614 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Temperatures will be in the 60s, making it the perfect evening for a run. Stay afterwards for beer and the $5 runner menu.

Tuesday

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Weir, best known as a founding member of the rock band Grateful Dead, has announced new tour dates for the group, including this Durham stop.

Astronomy on Tap (Fullsteam Brewing, 726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - This free event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the universe.

Jacquees (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - The artist brings his King of R&B tour to Raleigh.

White Label: A Bad News Media Film Premiere (Kings, 14 W. Martin St., Raleigh) - "White Label" is a short film and dark comedy that tells the story of how an odd man's determination is tested during the search for a rare record. There will also be standup comedy, other local films and live stage performances. Tickets are $5.

Wednesday

Postmodern Jukebox (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - PMJ is known for reworking popular modern music into different vintage genres, especially early 20th century forms such as swing and jazz.

Zac Brown Band (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh) - The country rock band from Georgia comes to Raleigh.

Cooking for a Classic (1705 East, 1705 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh) - This fourth annual cooking challenge benefits The Lucy Daniels Center. Each night in the bracket-style series, two top North Carolina chefs serve two appetizers, entrees and desserts as they compete for a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. It's your job to eat their creations and vote for your favorite.

Thursday

Empty Bowls 2020 (Durham Convention Center, 301 W. Morgan St., Durham) - Join over 1,000 members of our community to sample soups prepared by local, award-winning chefs, vote for your favorite, and, with certain tickets, take home a hand-crafted soup bowl made by a local artist.

Making Raleigh: The Local Cocktail (Watts and Ward, 200 S. Blount St., Raleigh) - Making Raleigh is a new event series from Raleigh Convergence highlighting the unique craft, places, food and drink in Raleigh.

The Wailin' Jennys (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - See the Canadian music group perform.

Friday

Greg Behrendt (Raleigh Improv, 1224 Parkside Main St., Cary) - The comedian and author of "He's Just Not That Into You" brings his comedy tour to Raleigh Improv Thursday through Saturday.

O.A.R. (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - The Maryland quintet brings their Spring Fling tour to Durham.

A Rodgers and Hammerstein Celebration with the NC Symphony (Meymandi Concert Hall, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - Starring Oscar Andy Hammerstein III, this concert will feature songs from collaborations such as South Pacific, The Sound of Music, State Fair, The King and I, Carousel, and Oklahoma Friday and Saturday.
