Monday

NCRLA Chef Showdown (Bay 7, 324 Blackwell Street, #700, Durham) - Taste creations from 20 of the best chefs in North Carolina at Angus Barn's Bay 7 in Durham. Guests are invited to taste and sip their way through the savory, pastry and mixologist competitions. Tickets are $125 each.

Carrie Underwood (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh) - The country star brings her Cry Pretty Tour to Raleigh.

Latte Art Class (Sir Walter Coffee, 145 East Davie Street, Raleigh) - Sign up now to learn how to make cool designs in your latte foam. Then enjoy your creation. Tickets are $30.

Tuesday

Open Mic Extravaganza (Goodnights Comedy Club, 816 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh) - See 20+ of the best local comedians Raleigh has to offer!

The Head and The Heart (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell Street, Raleigh) - The indie folk band brings their Living Mirage Tour to Raleigh.

NC Fine Wines Showcase Dinner (The Umstead, 100 Woodland Pond Drive, Cary) - This event features six wines paired with a delicious four-course dinner prepared by James Beard Semifinalist Chef Steven Greene. Tickets are $95.

Wednesday

Aladdin (DPAC, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - Discover a whole new world at Disney’s Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical. Shows run through Oct. 26.

Eric Andre (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - The actor, comedian and television host comes to Durham.

Home is Distant Shores (NC Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh) - This film festival features various films and directors who all focused their work on the subject of immigrant and refugee stories, voices, and perspectives.

Thursday

Casktoberfest (Big Boss Brewing, 1249 Wicker Drive, Raleigh) - Old World traditions meet a new world brewery in this ninth annual one night event. Food vendors will be on site.

Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival (1439 Henderson Tanyard Road, Pittsboro) - Shakori Hills features over 50 performers, dancing, sustainability workshops, camping, crafts and fun in a 72-acre site in Pittsboro through Sunday.

Dusty Slay (Raleigh Improv, 1224 Parkside Main Street, Cary) - Stand-up comedian Dusty Slay grew up on Lot 8 of a mobile home neighborhood in Opelika, Alabama, and his observational comedy and eternally optimistic outlook is peppered with ironies: growing up poor, a love for both hard-core country and classic rock, a career history peppered with jobs like waiting tables and selling pesticides and more. Tickets are $15.

Warehouse District Scavenger Hunt (Tasty Beverage Co., 327 West Davie Street, Raleigh) - The hunt will take guests to some of the most historical, artistic, and unique locations around the downtown area. Tickets are $25.

Friday

Andy Grammer (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - The singer brings his "Don't Give Up on Me" tour to Durham.

Dracula (Theatre in the Park, 107 Pullen Road, Raleigh) - Ira David Wood III adapts Bram Stoker's Gothic tale of the world's most famous vampire. The show runs Friday and Saturday at Theatre in the Park.

Rock Your World Benefit Concert (The Mayton Inn, 301 S. Academy Street, Cary) - Tickets are $150 and include premium seating, a full buffet, open bar and a taco bar. Proceeds benefit the Hope for Haiti Foundation and Ship Community Outreach.

First Friday (locations across downtown Raleigh) - It is opening weekend for CAM's fall exhibitions including "¡Viva Viclas! The Art of the Lowrider Motorcycle." Other galleries, shops and restaurants will also participate with extended hours, discounts and freebies.
