Erwin police investigating fatal shooting

The Erwin Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting Saturday.

Erwin police said officers arrived to Price St and US 421 just after 6:00 p.m. Saturday in response to a call of someone lying in the roadway.

Police said 41-year-old Kevin Massey was found on scene with a gunshot wound and was subsequently pronounced dead by EMS. 

Police said they are following several leads, but at this time have no suspect in custody.
