Engine fire forces emergency landing for RDU flight

A United Express flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport made an emergency landing in Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon after the right engine caught fire.

No injuries were reported among the 75 passengers and crew after flight 4882 landed at Philadelphia International Airport, officials said.

One passenger with a reported history of heart trouble was taken to the hospital as a precaution, officials said.

All flight activity at the airport was temporarily suspended due to the emergency landing.

Officials have not said what caused the fire.

Passengers whose final destination was Newark were transported from Philadelphia by charter bus. Those traveling internationally flew out of Philadelphia.
