Empty home burns in wooded area in Fuquay-Varina

Smoke filled the sky Monday as firefighters worked to control a house fire in Fuquay-Varina.

At 12:15 p.m., Sky 5 flew over the scene at Eagle River Drive at Wilbon Road.

The home was in a heavily wooded area, so it was difficult to see the extent of the home's damage from Sky 5.

A spokesperson with the town of Fuquay-Varina said the house was vacant and had no power. There was no one inside, so no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
