Emergency pipe replacement blocks road in Knightdale

An emergency pipe replacement blocked both directions of Smithfield Road on Thursday morning.

The blockage was between Baywood Forest Drive and Covington Cross Road, just south of the Highway 64 Bypass.

The road was expected to be shut down through Sunday at 4 p.m.

No other details were available.
