Durham teen, missing since June, returns home

A Durham teenager missing for almost two months was found safe Tuesday, police said.

Sara Martinez Diaz, 15, was reported missing after leaving Riverside High School on June 5. A month later, police issued a call to the public to help locate her.

Police did not offer any details about where Diaz had been or whether she had been in danger.

"Sara Martinez Diaz has been located and she is OK," Durham police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said in an email to the media.
