Another sign summer is coming to an end ... Durham's outdoor pools are closing for the season on Sunday.

Long Meadow Pool, 917 Liberty St.; Forest Hills Pool, 1639 University Dr.; and Hillside Pool, 1221 Sawyer St.; will be open until 5:30 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Of course, there's still an opportunity to swim in Durham after Sunday. The city's indoor Edison Johnson Aquatic Center, 500 W. Murray Ave., is still open. And Campus Hills Pool at 2000 S. Alston Ave. will reopen next month. Click here for details and hours.

Two of Raleigh's outdoor pools also will close on Sunday. They are Biltmore Pool, 701 Crown Crossing Lane, and Longview Pool, 321 Bertie Dr. The city's other outdoor pools will remain open for at least another couple of weeks. Some will be ready for swimmers through Sept. 5. Click here for details and hours on the Raleigh pools.
