Durham police seized drugs and cash during a traffic stop on Interstate 85 Wednesday morning.

Officer J.J. McDonough stopped a Honda Accord for speeding near Sparger Road. When officers searched the vehicle, they said they found a kilo of cocaine and $90,000 in cash.

Driver Silviano Amaral Sanchez of Washington, D.C., was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine, one count of possession of cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver and one count of maintaining a vehicle for the sale, transportation or distribution of drugs.

Sanchez, 22, was being held Wednesday night in the Durham County jail under a $500,000 bond.
