Durham police seek leads in BP robbery

Durham police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in a convenience store robbery and shooting Monday afternoon.

Durham police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in a convenience store robbery and shooting Monday afternoon.

Investigators said someone walked into the Family Fare BP, at 2502 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd., around 4:30 p.m., demanded money and then shot an employee in the arm before fleeing with a cash register.

The employee was treated at Duke University Hospital and released.

Surveillance photos from the store show that the robber was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a white T-shirt over his face. Investigators said the man was described as a being black, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds.
