Durham police investigating deadly Saturday night shooting

The Durham Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Saturday night.

Around 11:05 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of E. Cornwallis Road where they found a man who had been shot.

EMS transported the victim to Duke University Hospital, where he later died.

Based on preliminary investigation, officers said this shooting does not appear to be random.

This remains an active investigation at this time.
