A Durham man was sentenced Thursday to nearly five years in federal prison for robbing a Wake Forest bank more than two years ago.

In addition to 57 months in prison, Raeford Edward Nunn, 44, was sentenced to three years of supervised release after his prison term expires.

Nunn pleaded guilty Oct. 22 to bank robbery by force or violence in connection with the Oct. 20, 2010, robbery of a Capital Bank branch at 12217 Capital Blvd.

Nunn stole approximately $1,260, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

At the time of the robbery, Wake Forest police said a man walked into the bank with a fake nose taped to his face and told a teller that he was holding up the bank.
