Duke Lemur Center

The Duke Lemur Center in Durham is rolling out some new programs for the winter and spring, including a new summer camp.

Center staff made some slight changes to the center's preschool program, which launched last year. Sessions for Lemur Play! and Junior Explorers are scheduled for February and March. The 75-minute programs are designed for kids ages 3 to 5 and their adult. The fee is $25 per child and $20 for the second child. Chaperones are free.

Space is limited (just eight children per session). Click here for details about the programs and to sign up.

And it's not on their website yet, but center staff tell me that they will be launching the first Lemur Center summer camp in July .The co-ed science camp is for rising sixth to eighth graders. Leaping Lemurs! Summer Science Camp is scheduled for July 15 to July 19 and Aug. 5 to Aug. 9.

I'm told that more information will be on the center's website soon. Registration will begin in February.

And let me take this opportunity to again share what a great place this is for families to visit. Read my earlier review.
