Driver killed in single-vehicle wreck

One person was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Thursday evening on Riley Hill Road near Broughton Road, the state Highway Patrol said.

Authorities said the vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it ran off of the left side of the road, overturned and hit a tree around 8:20 p.m.

The driver, whose name has not been released, died on impact.

Authorities said there was no evidence alcohol was involved.
