Driver dies in Fayetteville wreck
Fayeteville police were on the scene of a fatal wreck at 6204 Morganton Road Sunday morning.
The driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer died when it ran off Morganton Road and struck a tree early Sunday, police said.
The wreck occurred just west of McFayden Drive around 2:50 a.m. The driver, whose name was withheld pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were continuing to investigate but said that speed might have been a factor in the wreck.
