Driver crashes into telephone pole, downing electrical wires on US-501

A driver was taken to the hospital on Thursday after crashing into a telephone pole, causing electrical wires to fall across US-501 in Person County.

Roxboro police responded to the crash shortly after midnight.

The driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Officials say alcohol is believed to be a factor.
