Driver crashes into storefront at Apex shopping center

A driver crashed into a front entrance of a business at an Apex shopping center on Thursday.

The vehicle went into the front entrance of an H&R Block, going through front of business, shattering the glass and framework. The crash happened along Kelly Road, where a Publix grocery store anchors the shopping center.

There were no injuries. Apex police said the driver was parking the vehicle and accidentally pressed the accelerator, ending up about 25 feet into the business and crushing a cubicle.

"First thing I thought of was the lady's health," said H&R Block owner Kirk Casey. "She was very shaken up. I talked to her, made sure she was okay, she was."

Crews were there around 4:30 p.m. cleaning up.
