Driver charged in fatal Fayetteville wreck

Police on Tuesday charged a driver in a Monday wreck that killed another driver.

Christina Hart, 26, of Hallmark Drive in Spring Lake, was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to stop for a red light.

Police said Charles Evans, 76, of Gola Drive in Fayetteville, was northbound on Purdue Drive Monday afternoon when a Hart's 2007 Chevrolet ran a red light at Raeford Road and slammed into his 2002 Nissan. The force of the collision pushed Evans' car into a 2008 Ford driven by Herman Gray Jr., 61.

Hart and a passenger in Evans' car suffered minor injuries. Gray and a passenger in Hart's car were uninjured.
