A drive-by shooting at a Rocky Mount park injured a 37-year-old man and a teenager Sunday evening, hours before a separate shooting killed two men.

Witnesses told police that several men in a car on West End Street opened fire as they drove by Buck Leonard Park, 929 S. Grace St., around 6:15 p.m. Bullets struck Keith Bagley, 37, and Hilbert Bain, 16, both of Rocky Mount.

Bain's injuries were minor, and Bagley was recovering from non-life-threatening wounds at Nash General Hospital, police said.

Investigators described the car as an older-model, four-door, black Honda Accord. It was last seen heading toward Raleigh Road.

Police said they are still trying to figure out the motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made.

About five hours later, Randy Levon Elliott and Gregory Demon Freeman, both 22 and from Rocky Mount, were shot and killed while sitting in a car outside Elliott's house at 808 Pender St.

Police are searching for a white Honda, possibly a two-door Civic with factory hubcaps, seen leaving the area at the time of the shooting. Investigators haven't made an arrest or determined a motive.
