The Raleigh doctor accused in a fatal DWI wreck has entered rehab, his lawyer said Monday.
Raymond Dwight Cook, 42, of 10516 Beckridge Lane in Raleigh, saw his court date continued on charges of second-degree murder and DWI in the crash that killed a Winston-Salem ballerina Sept. 11.
Witnesses told police that Cook was drinking at the Raleigh Country Club and at Piper's Tavern in north Raleigh that day before he crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by Elena Bright Shapiro, 20, at Lead Mine and Strickland roads in Raleigh.
Cook is out of jail on bond and is in rehab at an out-of-state facility, his representative said.
