I do love what Knightdale is doing over at its Knightdale Station Park and that includes this awesome swing.

It's a parent-child swing, which is designed for a parent and young child to swing together. (Can I borrow somebody's young child so I can try this out for myself?!)

Brian Bowman, the town's public information officer, tells me that the swing has gotten rave reviews since the town installed it many months ago now. Mom or dad can swing with their child without worrying about the child falling out. Best of all, they can face each other to laugh, smile and talk as they have a blast.

The swing is open when the park is open, which is sun-up to sundown. Even if this swing wasn't there, it's worth a trip out to Knightdale Station from wherever you are. The park has a great playground, including the new PlayPrints, and hosts regular events such as the town's farmers' market and outdoor movie series.

It's at 810 N. First Ave., Knightdale.

Go Ask Mom features places to take kids every Friday. For more, check our posts on parks and playgrounds and Triangle family destinations.
