Deputies are pursuing the "armed and dangerous" murder suspect — who is accused of killing four people in multiple states — for a sixth day.

Tyler Terry as been on the run from police since last Monday, WIS reports.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office says they are after the suspect in the Highway 9 and Richburg Road area in Chester County. Deputies are asking the public in the area to lock their doors, secure their firearms, stay inside and report suspicious activity.

Terry is accused of multiple murders, including at least two in South Carolina, and two in St. Louis, Missouri. The suspect has a criminal record includes arrests in both North and South Carolina.

The manhunt caused MUSC Health - Lancaster Medical Center to go on lockdown Saturday night through early Sunday morning “out of an abundance of caution.”

“If you have a loved one, kin or friends in the Richburg area, please try to contact them to check in. If you cannot contact them, let us know and we will try to make contact. Additionally, if you have property here and are on vacation, contact us and we will check on it,” officials with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff Max Dorsey said his deputies will stay in the area unless they have evidence that lead them somewhere else. Officers have no information that would make them believe Terry left the area of Richburg.

Terry is accused of shooting at deputies during a car chase and is believed to be armed, officials said.

Deputies are encouraging people in those areas to pay attention to barns, crawl spaces under homes and outbuildings.

As the days continue to stretch on, former Assistant Director of the FBI, Chris Swecker says there's concern this manhunt won't end peacefully.

"As each day goes by as each hour goes by I think the suspect is more desperate and more fatigued and more mentally deteriorated," Swecker said. "It was dangerous on day one, it gets more dangerous as these conditions exacerbate."

Terry's criminal history

Terry and Adrienne Simpson are wanted for killing Simpson's husband, according to officials.

Simpson was taken into custody on Monday after a high-speed chase, but Terry got away.

The couple is linked to two deadly robberies in Missouri, the murder of another man earlier this month and shooting at Chester County sheriff's deputies.

In 2019, Terry was arrested for assaulting Simpson, and documents linked to that case say he hit her in the back with a machete and punched her several times. Another arrest warrant alleges Terry hit Simpson so hard she lost hearing in her right ear and her eye was swollen shut.

Just a month ago, Myrtle Beach police arrested Terry on a charge of third-degree domestic violence. Simpson told police Terry broke her phone and injured her.

”This is a dangerous person who we know is armed,” says Dorsey. “We’re focusing all of our resources to catch him.”
