The bodies of a man and a woman were found Monday afternoon inside a house near Elm City, the Wilson County Sheriff's Office said.

John Henry Little, 61, who lived at the home, and Charlene Jones Leake, 42, of Wilson, appeared to be the victims of a double homicide, authorities said. Investigators would not release any details about how they died.

Deputies were called to 3233 Corbett Ave. around noon in response to a missing persons call and found Little and Leake dead inside. The victims were acquaintances and appeared to be intentionally targeted, authorities said.

No other details were released by authorities.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said she and another woman called 911 after finding a baseball cap filled with blood on the front porch and blood between the front and screen doors.

The other woman, the neighbor said, was looking for her sister, who she thought might have been at the home with Little.
