Yesterday, April 2, 2009 around 7 pm, a deer ran into Food Lion in which I work at. The deer ran around the entire store until it was cornered in one of the aisles and then immediately taken outside by two associates and two customers. After the deer was taken outside, the deer came back into the store and crashed through the other set of doors and ran through the shopping center towards the direction of the road.

A deer ran into the Food Lion, at 1459 Broad St. in Fuquay-Varina, twice Thursday night, a store manager said.

Around 7 p.m., the deer entered through the front door of the store and ran around before being cornered by two workers and two customers in an aisle. They escorted the deer out, but the animal came back in.

The deer ended up exiting through the back door.

Store officials said the glass panels on the back door were damaged. The deer also nearly damaged the lottery machine. The animal ran into it and nearly knocked it over.
