One fewer person died on North Carolina roads during the 2010 Thanksgiving travel season compared to the year before, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
In all 11 fatalities were recorded on state highways between Wednesday and Monday, said Sgt. Jeff Gordon, spokesman for the patrol.
In 2009, the state saw 12 traffic deaths during that same period. Two years ago, there were more than double that number.
