Cyclists ride against cancer in annual race

Le Tour de femme

The 7th Annual Tour de Femme, a women-only bike race, takes place this Saturday in Cary to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the local Angel Fund of Rex Hospital.

Cyclists will be riding either a 15-mile, 31.2-mile or 62.4-mile course, after which there will be a post-ride celebration for participants and the community to raise awareness and funding for Cancer Research and Cancer Survivorship programs.

The race will start and finish at Cycling Spoken Here. Registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m., and the races start at 9 a.m. – grab some coffee and come cheer on the cyclists!

Registration is still open and is only $30 until Oct. 11 (after that date, registration is $35). If you haven't ridden a bike since you were 10 years old but would still like to participate, there are many jobs available for volunteers. You can also submit donations on their website.
