Crews working to repair water main break on Hope Mills Road in Fayetteville

Crews are working to repair a large water main break this morning in Fayetteville.

The water main break happened early Wednesday morning near Hope Mills Road and Queensdale Drive.

Shortly after 3 a.m., fire crews found a large amount of water flowing from a water main and flooding a nearby residence.

Crews are currently on scene fixing the water main break.

The Fayetteville Police Department posted on Facebook Wednesday morning and said Hope Mills Road was eroding with water.

Drivers can expect significant traffic delays in the area while crews make repairs. The outbound lanes of Hope Mills Road will be closed. Drivers can use Wingate Road as an alternate route.
