Crews cleaning spill on Halifax County roads

Crews were trying to clean up a flammable liquid off a 15-mile stretch of roads in Halifax County early Wednesday.

Authorities received a call around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday about a tanker truck leaking a liquid. Deputies eventually got the driver to stop on Highway 158.

Authorities found puddles of the the substance throughout Roanoke Rapids and on the highway.
