Crash on Capital Boulevard in Wake Forest sends 5 to hospital

A serious crash involving multiple vehicles shut down part of Capital Boulevard/U.S. Route 1 in Wake Forest on Friday night. Five people were taken to the hospital.

The wreck occurred near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Durham Road. At least three vehicles were severely damaged in the crash, according to photos from the scene.

Northbound traffic was diverted onto Durham Road/North Carolina Highway 98.
