US-70 westbound reopens in Durham after crash

Westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 70 in Durham were closed briefly Thursday morning near Lynn Road due to a crash.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the crash happened around 7 a.m., and the road reopened just after 8 p.m.

The DOT advised drivers to follow the instructions of law enforcement officers on scene.

WRAL's Brian Shrader said drivers should consider using the Durham Freeway as an alternate route until the crash is cleared up.
