Countdown to Wegmans: Readers list their fave products
We are less than a week away from the Grand Opening in Raleigh of the first Wegmans location in North Carolina!
I have heard from many people who have been to Wegmans in other states that this grocery store has an excellent selection of items not found in the Triangle. Many have indicated that when they head to states with a Wegmans, that they bring back a car full of their favorite groceries or they talk their friends and relatives in to bringing them specific items when they visit.
"My husband is from Buffalo and every time he goes home we go to Wegmans before leaving town. Best place I have ever been," shared Smart Shopper reader Stacy.
I was wondering what products shoppers were most excited to be able to buy locally once the Wegmans in Raleigh opens. I reached out to the readers of our WRAL Smart Shopper Facebook page and asked, "What are your top 3 to 5 products that you cannot wait to buy again once Wegmans opens on Sept. 29?"
Rachel shared, "The cheese section is the bomb and the bulk section is life!"

Bagels, Dill Dip to dip the bagels in, salad bar, dumpling bar, Chinese food bar, Subs, Wings, Chicken Fingers, Bulk Food Gummy Worms - stick forever to school ceilings when licked & tossed up... Pretty much everything is awesome. If a grocery store isn't Wegmans then it pretty much is a just lame grocery instead of a food, festivas wonderland. No Wegmans where I am so my husband does all the grocery shopping. I refuse. - Laura
I love Wegmans! I worked there as a cashier from the time I was 15 and then I began working at their coffee bar. I worked there until I was 22 and got my first teaching job. I’ve met Danny Wegmans several times. It’s a great grocery store and I’ll definitely be making the drive out there to shop. - Lisa
