Survey finds many still not ready to attend big events like weddings

Many of us aren't yet ready to attend a large event. Others say it's time. A national event planning company conducted an online survey and the results may surprise you.

The Event Services Group out of Florida surveyed 1,300 people, and about a third of them says they won’t feel comfortable going to or hosting a large event for anywhere from three to nine months. Event planning companies say this is forcing them to be creative stay afloat. Many people in North Carolinas are hosting what they call mini-moneys inside. They are small wedding gatherings for 10 people and then a larger one is outside.

Event Services Group said it will be up to event planners to find ways not just to make guests safe but make them feel safe.

"Maybe the mask could be themed towards the wedding," said Wayne Labush, managing partner of Event Services Group. "You could let your guest know that potentially everyone who shows up will be having their temperature taken.

"You'll be verifying with guests a week before that no one has been sick in the household. There's certain precautions you can take to make someone feel like they are showing up at an event that is as safe as possible."

Event planners said you can also expect less guests at each table, drinks being delivered to the table instead of people standing in line at a bar and no more buffets, only sit-down meals served at the table.
