Big crowds spotted in Raleigh during first weekend of eased COVID-19 restrictions

Neither weather nor COVID-19 kept people from going out in Raleigh on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Large crowds of people congregated at the bars and restaurants on Glenwood South on the first weekend of relaxed COVID-19 restrictions. Only a few people were wearing masks and complying with social distancing protocols around 2 a.m, when the bars closed.

Raleigh police had a heavy presence in the area, but there were no problems. State health officials urged North Carolinians to continue safety protocols, even with the easing of restrictions.
