Saint Augustine's University has shifted all classes online for the next week "to mitigate viral transmission on our campus," officials said Wednesday.

Only two St. Aug's students have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 10 days, according to the school's online dashboard.

"At Saint Augustine's University, the safety and well-being of our students is always our primary concern," Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Josiah Sampson III said in a statement.

The university provides biweekly testing, offers vaccinations and uses hand sanitizer and temperature scanners to keep the virus in check, Sampson noted.

"Our change in course delivery was another precautionary strategy to mitigate viral transmission on our campus. We will continue to be vigilant in our protocols to ensure that Saint Augustine's University is one of the safest institutions in this region," he said.
