Linda Artis is back to her home in Selma after a long battle with COVID-19.

On March 28, she got sick, and so began the longest amount of time she spent apart from her husband of almost 16 years, Charles.

"My husband went to park the car, they told him to go home," Linda said of the drop-off at the hospital. "And somebody would contact him. They wouldn't let him in the door."

She tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

"And I tell you it's devastating when you don't have your husband, nobody by your side when you're going through something like that," she said.

Something like that turned out to be two weeks in the hospital, including nine days in an induced coma. Her body rested, but her mind was still active.

"I saw myself standing on this bridge," she said of the visions she had. "And a casket being pushed off this truck. One time I thought I was kidnapped."

Linda was released from the hospital on the Monday after Easter, and was released from home care on May 5.

She believes she is blessed, touched by the hand of a higher power, gently pushing her through to recovery.

"I see people going on about their day," she said. "They don't care if they put a mask on or not. Take [COVID-19 seriously]. This is a serious matter."
