The Story of North Carolina opens Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the North Carolina Museum of History.

The N.C. Museum of History is closed right now to limit the spread of the coronavirus, but that doesn't mean you can't learn history from home.

The state museum has a History at Home! page, which provides a variety of virtual opportunities to learn more about North Carolina history.

You can explore exhibits, dive deep into the museum's collection, listen to podcasts and more. Museum staff plan to update the page going forward.

You'll also find at-home learning packets with background information, articles, videos and activities that meet North Carolina's social studies and English and language arts standards on topics in North Carolina history. The packets are designed for individual student use at home. More will be coming online soon.

For all of the activities, check the museum's History at Home! page.
