Fall is shaping up to be a busy time for music festivals in the Raleigh area.

The annual Hopscotch music festival which takes over venues around downtown Raleigh is set to return Sept. 9-11. The event was canceled last year due to COVID-19. Those with pre-purchased tickets for last year were able to request a refund or hold on to passes to access to shows in 2021.

No other information has been released about the upcoming festival.

Also in September, the IBMA World of Bluegrass is set to return to Raleigh in some form.

The festival, which includes a business conference, performances and a free street festival, is scheduled Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

Organizers have said they are "cautiously optimistic that we will be able to hold a hybrid IBMA World of Bluegrass this fall with a meaningful and safe in-person component in Raleigh."

The other major music festival that canceled last year was Dreamville. The popular music festival from rapper J. Cole, was set to take place last year at Dix Park, but was canceled due to COVID-19.

There have been no announcements concerning Dreamville Festival this year.
