The grandson of Rev. Billy Graham, Jonathan Lotz, is in the intensive care unit with COVID-19, according to a Facebook post.

Graham's daughter, Anne Graham Lotz, wrote on Facebook that her son told her he is "physically exhausted yet spiritually overflowing."

He is not on a ventilator yet, according to her Facebook post.

Jonathan Lotz's family is asking for people to pray that he will be able to make a full recovery from the virus.

"Please be encouraged that God is hearing and answering your prayers — just please don't let up," Anne Lotz wrote.

WRAL News reached out to Anne Graham Lotz's ministry based in Raleigh to ask if Jonathan Lotz was vaccinated or not. They declined to comment on his condition.

Billy Graham was an influential evangelical figure from Charlotte. He died in February 2018 when he was 99.

Jonathan Lotz is the founder of a ministry based in Clemmons.

His biography on his ministry page says he's "experienced athletic disappointment, then cancer, then divorce, then unemployment."

Billy Graham's son, Franklin Graham, posted on Facebook in May encouraging everyone to get vaccinated. This post sparked outrage within the Evangelical community.

"Yes, I think Jesus Christ would advocate for people using vaccines and medicines to treat suffering and save lives," Graham wrote in May.
