High demand for pools and spas in hot summer

With temperatures soaring, many are looking for ways to cool off. Demand for pools during the pandemic is at an all-time high.

It's so high that manufacturers aren't able to meet the demand.

It’s no surprise that people want to create a piece of paradise in the safety of their own backyard during a pandemic and a summer that is growing increasingly hot.

At Custom Pool and Spa, business is booming. Businesses who sell pools are having record years across the nation.

For them, that is good news, but the bad news is that some companies are coming up empty when it comes to getting the supplies that they need.

“Production is behind on everything," said Scott Garrett of Choice Pool and Spa. "On the materials, on the wholesale goods, and it’s making it tough. Nationwide, it’s tough on everybody."

The owner of Choice is booked solid through the end of the year, telling WRAL News that he turns down 10 leads per day.
